| I never think of my photography as a job. I love making people look good. Clients always tell me what a good time they had during our session. That’s the best compliment I could ever receive! A good headshot shoot should never feel like work or a trip to the dentist! It should feel like an afternoon hanging out with a friend. And that’s my intention when you walk through my door. I want you to feel comfortable with me, your makeup and hair, clothes and the music I play. That’s when the magic will happen – when you’re completely at ease! I will do everything to accommodate you and make you feel at home. LET’S COLLABORATE! I shoot all digitally and in color. If you need a black and white shot, it can be easily converted later. As we shoot, we will view the photos on my monitor. We’ll be able to evaluate the shots as we go. But feel free to be honest and tell me what you think. I encourage your collaboration! The best results are always achieved when client and photographer work as a team. I encourage clients to know what it is they’re selling. When you’re clear about who you are and what it is you want from your pictures, the more successful your shoot will be. So, do a little homework: Talk to your agents and managers in advance; find out exactly how they see you and what they expect from your pictures. What type are you? In which kinds of roles are you most likely to be cast? If you’re an opera singer, consider your voice type (“fach”); your picture should reflect that! And then, what clothes can you wear during your shoot that will best represent that type? I want to make sure I get that “REAL YOU” shot plus other looks, too. My shoots are never rushed; I only shoot one client per day. We can use whatever light you prefer: strobe/studio, natural light or go outside (weather permitting) on-location. The average length of a shoot for women with hair and makeup is about 4-5 hours; for men, at least 3-4 hours. Music always sets a comfortable tone for a shoot! I love working to music. I have a huge library of all kinds of CDs: Pop, Rock, Country, Show Tunes, Classical, Opera, etc. But ask me, in advance, if I have something you’d like to hear or feel free to bring your own tunes. And finally, bring a good upbeat attitude, get a good night’s sleep and don’t bother with that stop at Starbucks – I’ll serve you the best cup of java in town…for free! |
